MPOC is a Council under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities of Malaysia. Its role is to promote Malaysian palm oil in the global market by enhancing the image of palm oil and creating better acceptance of palm oil through awareness of various technological and economic advantages (techno-economic advantages) and environmental sustainability.
MPOC Educational Module :
Dr. Bhavna Shah, Country Representative of Malaysian Palm Oil Council for India and Sri Lanka conducted the educational module where got the knowledge on Palm Oil and there i came to know how its been part of our life. Frankly speaking when i heard palm oil for the first time my reaction was what exactly it is and how to use it? is it edible or for external use only. but after Mrs Bhavna Shah shared her extensive knowledge on Malaysian Palm Oil then i came to know about its various health benefits. I was surprised to know india is the biggest importer of Palm Oil. Dr Bhavna Shah told us that there are lots of every day product where Palm oil is been used like Lipstick, Pizza dough, instant noodles, Shampoo, Ice cream, detergent, cookies, soap and the list is very long.
MPOC Practical Workshop :
It was a Young Chefs cooking competition for the students conducted by Malaysian Palm Oil Council. Students were given surprise ingredients and they had to cook a full course meal in Malaysian Palm Oil.
All and all it was a very good learning experience for us and we would like to thank MPOC for inviting us.
